As a car I admire other cars. Cars that drive really fast, cars with good emissions data, cars that can store an entire family’s worth of luggage. But in the UAE we have some exceptional cars; Dubai Police cars.
Dubai Police cars are green and white and are found in all shapes and sizes. There are 4×4’s, supercars, fast saloon cars, but what they all have in common is a purpose. The cars I like the most are the ones that are found on the 611 and 311 in Dubai. When the clock reaches 4pm these roads start to get busy, especially around the junctions, and every day Dubai police cars sit to help traffic move smoothly. It doesn’t matter how hot it gets, you will find a police car parked with the aim of deterring those cars that choose to drive on the hard shoulder because they can’t be bothered to wait in traffic like the majority of other cars.
They are also there to help cars that touch each other by accident. When a car touches another it’s rarely a good thing and to get repaired a police report is required. Can you imagine how long it would take for the police to arrive if they weren’t parked along these roads during peak hours?
This is a thanks to the fleet of Dubai police cars that sit in the sun every day of the week to help traffic flow smoothly.
